Strikingly beautiful fully red, glossy, savoyed leaves. Strong petioles and shallow root system require care when harvesting. Somewhat less productive than standard green-leaf Swiss chards, with a narrow petiole. For baby leaf production: Firebird is faster growing than Bull’s Blood beet with more refined savoyed leaves that are glossier, rounder, and provide better loft.
